This course will develop your understanding of current Employment Law and includes modules on:

  • Employment relations
  • Sex, race, disability discrimination
  • Worklife balance/protecting workers
  • Representation and union recognition
  • Research, communication, problem solving
  • Project writing

COURSE DATES FOR 2009

(This course is modular meaning that reps can begin on any one of the three terms)

Term 1 : From Thursday 15th January 2009 (12 wks)

Term 2 : From Thursday 23th April 2009 (12 wks)

Term 3 : September - dates to be confirmed

The TUC Studies Unit is able to offer experienced tutors for these courses which take place in various venues. In many cases, some reps, having been on the 3-day 'introductory' sessions, have gone on to apply for our core courses.

However, if you are a UNISON member and you are interested in your own union's courses, please phone either Les or Martin first. They will then advise me of the numbers involved.

 

From January, we will also be running courses for UNISON in Hertfordshire.
